1/7 @NonFunGerbils The #NonFunGerbil, up until January 2009, was known to all of his gerbil mates as the Fun Gerbil. The Fun Gerbil lived in a cage next to his best buddy, Fun Hamster, on the desk of their kindly computer programmer master. 2/7 On the 2nd Jan 2009 their kindly master suddenly installed a super slick carbon fibre hamster wheel in the cage of Fun Hamster along with a little hamster laptop. Fun Hamster immediately started doing what he loved to do - run like gazelle. And he just kept running. 3/7 Then, on the 3rd of January 2009, the laptop screen blinked brightly with the words "Block #1 - 50 Bitcoins". 10 minutes or so later it did it again, "Block #2 - 50 Bitcoins". And so it went on. 4/7 Within a few years, Fun Hamster started redecorating and building extensions to his cage. He even built a garage and had a bright red Lambo delivered to it. The more he ran, the more he bought. 5/7 Eventually he'd bought so much stuff he stopped running and started cruising around his cage in the Lambo instead. Over the course of those 10 years, Fun Gerbil's friends noticed that he had stopped being so fun. 6/7 He'd started gnawing at the bars of his cage and drinking scotch for breakfast. However hard they tried they just couldn't bring him round. Eventually they gave up, since when he has become colloquially known as the #NonFunGerbil. 7/7 They did manage to convince him to go to rehab though and, with his programme now complete, he's put this grim past behind him and is proudly relaunching himself today as the #genesisgerbil (if still a rather #NonFunGerbil)

@NonFunGerbils In 2009, #FunGerbil's mate, #FunHamster, hooked his wheel up to a #Bitcoin miner. #FunHamster got so rich he bought a Lambo. #FunGerbil got depressed, turned to booze & drugs & turned into a very #NonFunGerbil. Now thankfully clean, he's born again as #GenesisGerbil. The End :)
